Artmobile visits Brookwood

Artmobile’s newest STEAM exhibition, Marvelous Machines, integrates art, mechanical engineering, and physics into an interactive experience for all ages. Through a collaboration with the Mercer Museum, the exhibit presents historical examples of the six simple machines – lever, wheel and axle, pulley, inclined plane, wedge, and screw – then explores their use in elegant kinetic sculpture, whimsical pieces and conceptual artworks. Visitors will gain insight into the creative process in both art and science, understand the importance of play, risk-taking, and failure to drive discovery and innovation.

STEAM NEWS November 2019

Robot Update:
For the second year (of what is becoming an annual event) Brookwood is entering teams in the Wonder Workshop Robotics Competition! Students are learning about coding and applying their newly found knowledge of repeat loops, conditionals, and variables to write code for the Dash and Dot robots to follow. Thank you to the students (and parents) for working hard after school for this competition. Updates to follow!
